I've never been much of a baker but when I thifted this old school mixer* I knew it was in my destiny to burn bake...something. In comes these homemade Oeros. I used this simple recipe to create my diet bashing yet glorious snack.
Despite burning half the batch they surprisingly still look great in pictures (take note psuedo-food bloggers*).
AP claims that they were too sweet...I claim he's delusional...but totally awesome.
Just to add, I made the frosting too. I'm obviously way above "the can" stuff now.
Now that I'm the new Asian Martha Stewart (minus the jail time) I shall be adopting words like confectioners' sugar and room temperature beurre into my everyday speech.
| The good batch |
| Frosting: Butter: 1/2 stick Vegetable shortening: 1/2 stick Confectioners' sugar: 2 cups Unbuttoning my pants: priceless |
*I can't afford this. Donations welcome.

ok, that mixer kind of rocks. :) It's got more character than a kitchen-aid, for sure!
First of all, the first picture is awesome! This looks absolutely amazing, I love that old school 'kitchen aid' mixer!
Those look so delicious! They're like little whoopie pies, mmm. And that Kitchenaid is beautiful! I still mooch off my mom's.
